Donation of Diathermy Probes to Ratnapura Teaching Hospital

All proceeds of the 50th anniversary Gala auction went towards to the Breast cancer awareness project, that was classified into 3 stages to cater 3 areas of patient needs in Sri Lanka :

1️⃣ Surgical intervention and Ongoing treatment

2️⃣ Prevention

3️⃣ After-care

In our continued effort to strengthen healthcare in Sri Lanka, we completed the first stage of the project where we proudly gifted 20 diathermy probes to the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.

This contribution directly supports the hospital’s breast cancer surgical program, enabling surgeons to perform more precise and safer operations for women battling breast cancer. Diathermy probes are vital surgical tools that help control bleeding and minimize tissue damage during operations—improving both the efficiency of procedures and the recovery experience for patients.

We are honored to share that the first breast cancer surgery under this initiative has already been successfully completed, marking a significant step toward improving cancer care in the Ratnapura region, a pivotal move in the sabaragamuwa province.

This projects reflects SLAWDC’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility, quality, and outcomes in Sri Lanka through practical, needs-based support.

Together, we can continue to make a difference! 🤝
