Flood relief- 3000 bottled water to the Deltota hospital

Last November, Sri Lanka faced one of its’ worst flood and landslide disasters in decades, with nearly one million people affected without homes and essentials sending millions of  people to state-run temporary shelters.

As a part of the first tier of response; Sri Lanka Association of Washington D.C (SLAWDC), under the SLAWGW charity arm, successfully delivered 3000 water bottles to the Divisional Hospital- Deltota, Kandy district that was facing a severe drinking water shortage after the Ditwah Cyclone. At the time of distribution, Deltota was a high alert zone still under risks for landslides. This donation provided essential relief to patients, staff and visitors ensuring access to clean water at thier time of need.
